APD arrests man for attempted murder

APD homicide detectives have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting in the North Valley on March 4.Jeremy Munoz, 46, was with his friend, Sean Martin, 41, in the early hours of March 4 as they searched for Martin’s ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend. Martin was driving a white Ford Escape with Munoz in the passenger seat while they aggressively chased Martin’s ex-girlfriend, who was in a blue Hummer. Detectives found that Munoz and Martin both fired 14 gunshots at the Hummer while driving westbound on Aztec Rd. between 2nd St. and 11th St. Officers say no one in the Hummer was injured. Martin’s ex-girlfriend, along with other individuals in the Hummer, drove to a friend’s home. As they left the home, one of the passengers had a firearm and drove the Hummer toward the intersection of 8th Street and Menaul Boulevard, N.W. They then noticed Martin approach them again from behind in the white Ford Escape, leading to another shooting incident.Martin was struck by the gunfire. He drove from the North Valley to the area of Menaul and San Mateo Boulevard NE, where Munoz then called 911. A rescue unit transported Martin to the hospital, where he died as a result of his gunshot wound. Through investigation, detectives found that Martin had been stalking his ex-girlfriend and threatening violence against her family members and friends. Martin was accused of criminal damage at the home of her new boyfriend.Investigators also accused Munoz of shooting at the Hummer and assisting Martin in his efforts to stalk his ex-girlfriend, as well as trying to cover up the crimes.Munoz is being charged with: · 3 counts of Attempt to Commit 1st Degree Murder· 3 counts of Conspiracy to Commit 1st Degree Murder· 2 counts of Shooting at/from a Motor Vehicle· 2 counts of Conspiracy to Commit Shooting at/from a Motor Vehicle· Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Stalking· 2 counts of Criminal Damage to Property· 2 counts of Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Damage to Property· Tampering with Evidence (Attempted Murder)· Reckless Driving· Conspiracy to Commit Reckless Driving· Larceny

· Reckless Driving

· Conspiracy to Commit Reckless Driving

· Larceny
