POWERED BY CARL’S AUTO GROUP. WELCOME BACK. YOU FIGURED IOWA TAKING ON TOP SEED FLORIDA IN TAMPA WAS NOT THE BEST SITUATION. WELL THE HAWKEYES NEVER GOT THE MEMO BUSTING BRACKETS EVERYWHERE. COLIN HALL GOT TO SEE THAT HISTORIC 7372 WIN UP CLOSE IN FLORIDA. AND COLON. THIS WAS AN ALL TIME MOMENT FOR ONE IOWA PLAYER IN PARTICULAR. YEAH AND REALLY AN UNLIKELY HERO AS WELL IN ALVARO VULGARIS, WHO HITS THE GAME WINNER WITH JUST SECONDS LEFT A CORNER THREE TO KNOCK OFF THE DEFENDING CHAMPS. IT WAS INCREDIBLE. I WAS RIGHT THERE IN THE PRETTY MUCH STANDING BY THE CORNER WHERE HE SHOT THE BALL FROM IN AN ARENA THAT WAS, OH GOLLY, 97% FULL OF FLORIDA FANS ALLOWED IOWA CONTINGENT, BUT MOSTLY GATOR FANS, AND HE SILENCED THEM IN THAT MOMENT. BIGGEST IOWA MEN’S BASKETBALL WIN THIS CENTURY GOT TO B, AND THE SHOT THE MOMENT FOR ALVARO WAS SPECIAL FOR A WHOLE LOT OF REASONS, BUT MAYBE NONE MORE THAN THIS. RIGHT AFTER THE BUZZER SOUNDED, FLORIDA COULD NOT GET THE ANSWER. ON THE OTHER END, VULGARIS GOES INTO THE STANDS TO HUG HIS MOM, BEATRICE. SHE TRAVELS 4500 MILES FROM THEIR HOME IN SPAIN TO COME SEE HIM PLAY IN PERSON THIS WEEK. FIRST TIME SHE’S SEEN HIM PLAY IN PERSON SINCE FRESHMAN YEAR. YES, THAT’S RIGHT, SINCE FRESHMAN YEAR. A LONG WAY TO TRAVEL TO COME SEE HIM. ALVARO AFTER THE GAME TELLING US THAT THAT SHOT WAS FOR A WHOLE LOT OF PEOPLE, COACHES, FAMILY, PEOPLE THAT HAVE HELPED HIM GET HERE. BUT AT THIS MOMENT, THIS HUG WITH HIS MOM WAS SPECIAL. SO WE TRACKED HER DOWN. WE FOUND BEATRICE AND HAD TO ASK HER WHAT WAS SHE THINKING WHEN THE SHOT WENT IN. PODIDO PENSAR PORQUE LA TAN GRANDE A VECES NO PUEDE SER MUY EMOCIONADA. SHE JUST SMILED. SO A LOT OF EMOTIONS GOING ON THROUGHOUT HER BODY. YOU KNOW, SHE’S A FIGHTER. SHE SHE INSPIRED ME EVERY SINGLE DAY. AND YOU KNOW, SHE’S HERE TO TO WORK WITH THE MARCH MADNESS. AND AND I WANTED TO HAVE THAT, THAT DETAIL WITH HER BECAUSE I FEEL IT THAT WAY. AND, AND SHE DOESN’T DESERVE LESS. AN INCREDIBLE SCENE IN TAMPA. PRETTY DARN COOL. BY THE WAY, ALVARO PLAYED HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL HERE IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA. SCOTT. PRETTY COOL. A WHOLE LOT MORE COMING UP. STILL LATER, WE’LL HEAR FROM MO
