TRENT REZNOR Clarifies His Comments About NINE INCH NAILS Not Touring Anymore

Date:

Nine Inch Nails fans can rest a little easier tonight. I think.

During the band’s February 27, 2026 show at the BOK Center in Tulsa, OK, frontman Trent Reznor paused mid-set to reflect on the band’s storied touring history – and to hint that the future of Nine Inch Nails on the road may be uncertain.

Reznor recalled in the moment: “I think one of the first times we played here, I think maybe it was Cain’s Ballroom, like 80 years ago…. I think we were opening for Peter Murphy… and we were playing ‘Head Like A Hole,’ and I could see someone in the back screaming the fuckin’ lyrics back at me, and I thought, ‘This is all I ever wanted in life, is to connect with somebody like that dude in the back [of the venue]. Anyway, that’s what I think of when I roll into Tulsa.

“I don’t know if we’re gonna be touring anymore after this, but I’m proud of the show that we’re doing right now. And I’m f*ckin’ grateful that you’ve chosen to spend your evening with us tonight. Thank you very much.”

Fans got further clarity as the band closed out their Peel It Back World Tour on March 16, 2026, at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, CA. Reznor addressed misinterpretations surrounding his earlier comments, making it clear that while Nine Inch Nails currently has no tour plans, he isn’t ruling out future dates: “As some of you may know, this is the last show of the tour.

“And to be clear, I think I said something the other day that then got misconstrued into something that is not intentionally necessarily true… That doesn’t mean we may not tour again. We may tour again. It won’t be next month, it won’t be this year.

“I never said we were intentionally stopping, and I never meant that. But, to be truthful, we didn’t tour for a while before this tour because, frankly, I didn’t know if we could do it well, and if it still mattered, and if really [felt] like we had something to say… And what we’re going to do is work on some new music, and make some new shit. And if we feel inspired, and if we feel we can beat this [tour], we’ll see you again. And I hope to see you again, and I hope you come see us if we do.”
