Raiders: Ravens ‘backed out’ of trade for Maxx Crosby

Date:

The Baltimore Ravens have “backed out” of their trade agreement with the Las Vegas Raiders for five-time Pro Bowl defensive end Maxx Crosby, with sources telling ESPN the decision was due to medical concerns that arose during a physical.

The agreement, which was made Friday night, sent Crosby to the Ravens, with the Raiders receiving first-round picks in 2026 and 2027, sources told ESPN. The deal was set to become official at the start of the new league year Wednesday.

The Raiders are meeting Tuesday night to try to figure out the next steps, according to sources. It is unclear whether the deal can be revived in some form, but it puts the Raiders in a difficult situation because of all of the money they’ve already committed to outside free agents.

Crosby released a video on social media Saturday, saying that he had “zero ill will” toward the Raiders and hopes to retire with the organization when the time comes. He added that he was looking forward to helping the Ravens achieve their Super Bowl aspirations.
