INGESTED Re-Record Vocals For Their Upcoming Album Denigration After Firing JOSH DAVIES

Date:

UK death metal outfit Ingested have announced that all vocals on their upcoming album Denigration have been re-recorded following the firing of former vocalist Josh Davies earlier this year.

According to a statement from the band, guitarists Sean Hynes and Andrew Virrueta have handled the newly recorded vocals across the entire album. The updated recordings will begin rolling out with the next single release, and the currently available digital version of “Merciless Reflection” will be replaced with the new version.

From that point forward, the re-recorded vocals will serve as the definitive edition of the album across all physical and digital formats worldwide. The band described the move as difficult but necessary, stating the revised version better represents where Ingested stand today. They also confirmed they will begin searching for a new permanent frontman moving forward.

“As we get closer to the release of DENIGRATION, we want to share an important update,” wrote Ingested. “Sean and Andrew have re-recorded all vocals across the album.

“When the next single drops, the updated recordings will begin rolling out, and the current digital version of ‘Merciless Reflection’ will be replaced. From that point forward, the new recordings will stand as the definitive edition of the record. All physical and digital versions worldwide will reflect these updated vocals.

“This wasn’t a small decision, but it was the right one for the future of the band and the album. We’re proud of how the record stands, and it represents where Ingested is today as we move forward. This incarnation of Ingested captures a specific moment in time and stands as a unique document of this chapter in our history.

“Alongside this, we’ll begin the search for a new frontman as we build what comes next. Thank you to everyone who continues to support us, it genuinely means everything.”

The lineup change follows Davies‘ abrupt removal from the band after allegations surfaced online accusing him of sexual misconduct involving underage girls. At the time, Ingested issued a brief statement confirming his immediate departure and announcing that Adam Mercer would handle vocal duties during their current tour with Bodysnatcher, which also features Psycho-Frame and Big Ass Truck.

Davies later addressed the allegations in a statement posted to Instagram, denying any wrongdoing. He claimed he was unaware of one accuser’s age at the time they communicated and disputed details surrounding other allegations, stating that evidence indicates one accuser was actually 21.

Davies also said he has not been contacted by police and is not currently under investigation, adding that he plans to seek legal advice while refraining from further public comment due to the seriousness of the situation.
