Date:

Eric Forrest, best known for his time with Voivod and his ongoing work fronting E-Force, has gone public with his battle against prostate cancer. Earlier today, the Toulouse, France–based vocalist and bassist shared news of his diagnosis via social media, directing fans to a newly launched GoFundMe page set up to help support his treatment and recovery.

“Hello, to all my friends and fans ….. Been keeping this one quiet for many reasons …. Anyway, sad but true …… But you know what? I’m gonna beat this parasite! 100%. Thanks for your love and support,” Forrest wrote in the post.

In a more detailed message on the GoFundMe page, Forrest revealed that he was diagnosed with stage three prostate cancer in 2024 after doctors discovered a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level of 23.

Explaining why he chose to remain silent until now, he added: “I’ve kept this pretty much private for many reasons. After many delays … adminstration procedures, I have been on a daily routine to advance my situation (some days better than others).”

Despite the challenges, Forrest emphasized his determination and the importance of structure and support in his ongoing fight. “However, maintaining a disciplined scheduled format cycle. Plus, [with] some love and support from family and close friends,” he continued. “To eliminate this problem, please help me generate support to continue my fight to kill this parasite!”
