Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell checked himself into a hospital Monday night after experiencing “flu-like symptoms.”David Popp, a spokesperson for McConnell, confirmed the Kentucky senator checked himself into the hospital “in an abundance of caution.”Popp added that McConnell’s “prognosis is positive” and he has been in “regular contact with his staff and looks forward to returning to Senate business.”McConnell missed Senate votes on Monday and Tuesday.McConnell announced on his 83rd birthday he would not be seeking re-election in 2026.
