A series of crashes that left two pedestrians hospitalized and five others hurt is under investigation in Las Cruces.Police said four vehicles crashed after a driving traveling on Lohman Avenue experienced a type of medical episode on Wednesday, Jan. 28. This led to two vehicles being hit, before hitting a third vehicle at a nearby intersection.The last crash led to both vehicles involved left the roadway and hit two pedestrians on a sidewalk, according to Las Cruces police. The two pedestrians, described as men aged 40 and 48, were seriously injured and were transported to hospitals.The older pedestrian was later airlifted to a hospital in El Paso.The driver who experienced the medical episode was able to speak to first responders before being transported to a hospital.Firefighters tended to seven patients at the crash scene. A total of four people were hospitalized.No charges have been filed in the crash as of Thursday, Jan. 29.
