A police homicide investigation is underway after a man was shot and found outside of a restaurant in northern New Mexico.Española police said officers responded to the Dandy Burger parking lot for a person who was shot. Police contacted paramedics to assist the victim, identified as Leon Salazar.Officers found Salazar lying near his vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds.Salazar told police the shooting happened near the Española Housing Authority. He called for help after driving himself away from the housing complex, according to police.Paramedics were able to transport Salazar to a hospital, where he later died of his shooting injuries.
