The Ruidoso Downs Police Department has announced that their Chief Officer, Mark Hargrove, has passed away.According to RDPD, Chief Hargrove served with the department for over 30 years and served with pride and distinction. Hargrove previously served with the Lea County Sheriff’s Department and was elected sheriff in 2012. He served with the department until his retirement in 2014. The Lea County Sheriff’s Office, along with the city of Ruidoso Downs and the Ruidoso Downs Police Department, has extended their deepest condolences to the family of Chief Hargrove during this time.The department says funeral arrangements are currently being made.
