VITRIOL Will Continue As A Band, Starting With Their 2026 European Tour

Date:

Death metal band Vitriol recently became the main character of the metal world when frontman Kyle Rasmussen and the rest of the band suffered a pretty insane split.

Guitarist Keith Merrow first went public, claiming he, drummer Andy Vincenzetti, and bassist Brett Leier abandoned Rasmussen at a gas station after enduring what he called the singer’s “cowardly and weak outbursts of misplaced anger.” All three have since formed a new band, though there’s been no news on that front just yet.

Rasmussen fired back in a lengthy video, alleging the band had all used cocaine en route to Canada and that the others panicked over weed in the RV before crossing the border. He accused his bandmates of spreading false claims, threatening violence, and shoving his girlfriend — an incident he says ended with police involvement.

Rasmussen admitted his rage helped ignite the situation but called what followed “a drugged-out temper tantrum.” With help from a state trooper, he, his girlfriend, and their dog found a hotel, later launching a GoFundMe to get back to Portland after being stranded in upstate New York. Rasmussen said Vitriol will likely go on hiatus as he figures out the band’s future.

No word on what exactly those plans are just yet, though Rasmussen has since posted that Vitriol plans to move forward with their European tour: “I am pleased to announce that, even in light of recent events, Vitriol will still be supporting the mighty Bolzer alongside Misþyrming, The Ruins Of Beverast, and Trepaneringsritualen across Europe this upcoming February. Thank you to those who continue to show their support.”

Catch Vitriol at one of their tour dates (I’m assuming with a new lineup) below and grab yourselves some tickets right here.
