Holiday travel is expected to reach record-setting levels this week, with nearly 122 million people predicted to travel, the majority by car.Some travelers began their journeys over the past weekend, but AAA anticipates the busiest days will be Monday and Tuesday.AAA spokesperson Daniel Armbruster said that between Dec. 20 and Jan. 1, they typically receive around 2,700 roadside emergency calls in New Mexico. The most common issues are flat tires, dead batteries and engine problems.”Especially in those very cold nights, it can be hard for your battery to turn over the next morning, so if your battery is over three years old and you’re planning to take a road trip, we highly recommend working with a trusted mechanic just to make sure your vehicle is ready to go,” Armbruster said.For those planning to drive, AAA advises that the worst time to be on the road over the next two days is between 1 and 7 p.m.
