You Need To Hear The Blackened, Violin-Driven Majesty That Is WEFT (PANOPTICON)

Date:

Weft – the project headed up by Charlie Anderson, known best for his violin work with Panopticon – should not be missed this year. Which is exactly why we’ve teamed up with the band to bring you some Weft on this fine Thursday morning from their upcoming debut album The Splintered Oar.

The Splintered Oar is everything from somber violin work to triumphant, driving black metal topped with some truly guttural vocals, and really I wish I’d heard this sooner because it would’ve been on my year-end list. This is fucking majestic, man.

The Splintered Oar features Anderson playing everything and doing vocals alongside Panopticon mastermind Austin Lunn on drums, as well as guest violinist and vocalist Andrea Morgan and vocalist Jordan Day. Pre-orders for The Splintered Oar are available here prior to its December 19 release date.
