This Is Spinal Tap Director ROB REINER & His Wife MICHELE SINGER Found Dead In Their Home

Date:

Legendary actor and director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer were both found dead in their Brentwood home on Sunday, December 14. TMZ reports that both Reiner and Singer “suffered lacerations consistent with a knife” and an investigation is ongoing.

Reiner had plenty of legendary movies under his belt, though metal fans know him as the director and writer of the 1984 classic This Is Spinal Tap (and the 2025 sequel Spinal Tap II: The End Continues). We extend our deepest condolences to both the Reiner and Singer families at this time.

Rob Reine is the son of famed comedian and filmmaker Carl Reiner. Immersed in entertainment from an early age, he pursued acting and achieved major success in the 1970s with his role as Michael Stivic on the influential sitcom All in the Family.

In the 1980s, Reiner transitioned into directing and quickly became one of Hollywood’s most versatile and reliable filmmakers. His early work included This Is Spinal Tap (1984), Stand by Me (1986), The Princess Bride (1987), and When Harry Met Sally… (1989). Throughout the early 1990s, he continued his streak with critically acclaimed films such as Misery and A Few Good Men, showcasing his ability to handle comedy, romance, fantasy, and intense drama with equal skill.

Reiner‘s later career included films like The American President, Ghosts of Mississippi, and The Bucket List, while he also stayed active as an actor and political advocate.
