1143 ET – Spirit Aviation’s restructuring is likely to benefit competitors across most markets, with a few exceptions, Deutsche Bank analysts say. For example, Southwest Airlines’ overlap with Spirit’s markets is set to decline to 11% in the month of December, compared with 18% in the quarter ended in September, the analyst say. On the other hand, Spirit’s route cuts vary by region and it is actually increasing service in some of its core markets like Fort Lauderdale, Fla. That could have a more negative impact for JetBlue, whose sizable presence in Fort Lauderdale is likely to see overlap with Spirit increase, the analysts say. (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
