Alan Dysert, an acclaimed actor best known for his role on “All My Children,” has died. He was 75.

Dysert, who played Sean Cudahy on the ABC soap opera from 1980 to 1990, died Friday, his wife, Michele Dysert, announced in a social media post.

“While I am struggling to imagine life without him, I am forever grateful to have experienced what so many people spend their lives searching for — the love of a lifetime,” she wrote.

A cause of death has not been revealed, but Michele Dysert said he “faced more than his share of health challenges over the years.”

Dysert made an early television appearance on the sitcom “Soap” before joining “All My Children.”

He played Cudahy between 1980 and 1990, appearing in 79 episodes.

After his daytime television run, Dysert continued acting and worked as a producer and director. He also taught acting and coached performers in Nashville.

In his 2023 book, “Lights, Camera, Cancer!,” he wrote about living with a rare, aggressive cancer and undergoing multiple surgeries and chemotherapy.

Dysert is survived by his wife and two sons, Cody and Cooper.
