“No two days are the same—” that’s what one California sheriff’s office said after video showed deputies’ pursuit of an emu that decided to run away from its owner.
The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office posted video of officials trying to lead the two-legged friend from the road with treats. The department said it attempted to keep the emu out of traffic as they waited for its “owner to come get it.”
Authorities later posted a photo of the emu posing with police and its owner.

In a post on Facebook, the sheriff’s office said this incident is different from another that occurred, saying, “Different bird, same agenda: wreak havoc.”
