Democratic candidate Deb Haaland is leading Republican competitor Gregg Hull in the race for governor, a new poll from the Albuquerque Journal revealed over the weekend.
When asked to vote as they would on election day, 49% of respondents said they’d support Haaland while 42% said they’d vote for Hull.
Not everyone was certain — nearly 1 in 10 respondents said they were still undecided or unsure.

The results are nearly identical to a poll taken in August. Haaland has not been capable of pulling further ahead while Hull has been unable to close the gap.
“Deb Haaland has a great financial advantage over Hull, and despite that, she hasn’t been able to grow that lead,” KOAT political expert Brian Sanderoff said.
Sanderoff noted challenges that Hull faces in building recognition among voters.
“There are a lot of voters out there who aren’t familiar with Gregg Hull. He’s running against himself,” he said.
Sanderoff also noted that the campaigns have been “mostly positive.”
