Costco selling out of gold bars

(Korea Tourism Organization) – one of them Costco’s Chief Financial Officer Richard Galanti said on Tuesday’s earnings call that the latest items sold out within hours.

“I’ve gotten a few calls and people have seen online that we’ve been selling one-ounce gold bars,” Galanti told investors on the retailer’s fourth-quarter earnings call. “Yes, but when we load them onto the site they usually disappear within a few hours, and we limit them to two per member.”

Costco’s website shows that members can purchase 1-ounce 24-karat gold bars from the following websites: rand refinery $1,949.99 or 1 oz gold bar Swiss PAMP Priced at $1,979.99. Both items are rated 4.9 stars and cannot be refunded or returned.

Costco customers who are lucky enough to find the item (and can afford to buy it) can also earn 2% cash back on their purchase if they have a Premium membership card, which offers 2% back on all purchases.

As of Wednesday morning, an ounce of gold was worth $1,919, according to the data Nasdaq.

You also need a Costco membership to purchase gold bars from the retailer. Standard membership is $60 per year and Premium membership is $120 per year.
