Video: Cedric Doumbe delivers jaw-dropping 9-second knockout in PFL debut

Cedric Doumbe lived up to expectations on his PFL debut.

The former kickboxing champion from France needed just nine seconds to defeat Jordan Zebo in front of a raucous home crowd in Paris on Saturday.

Zebo started the fight with a kick, Doumbe caught it and immediately countered, and the fight ended in rapid fire fashion. Doumbe blasted Zebo with a huge left hook and followed up with a right hand.

Zebo fell to the ground, referee Marc Goddard rushed in to stop the fight and Doumbe celebrated a stunning victory in the PFL Europe Main Event.

“This was one of the best preparations I’ve ever had in combat sports,” Doumbe said after the win. “I felt like I was in good shape. Everything was set up to knock him out. I knew I was going to knock him out. That’s what I expected.

“That’s my specialty, I’m a kickboxer. He just stepped in and it was easy.”

Replays showed Doumbe moving smoothly as he caught a head kick, and then as Zebo tried to turn away, the 31-year-old knockout artist landed a left hook that essentially ended the fight. Zebo barely had a chance to react, let alone try to block the punch, before Doumbe crushed him with power and precision.

The signing of Doumbe is regarded as one of the best prospects in the PFL squad and he wasted no time in making a memorable first impression.

With the win, Doumbe moves to 5-0 in his MMA career and is anxiously awaiting his next assignment with the PFL, which will likely take place during the new season starting in 2024.

“I never refuse a fight,” Dumbe shouted. “Anyone. I never have to name anyone because I’m the best.”
