Possible hit and run in Phoenix injures one

Police said they received a call about an injured person early Saturday morning and learned a man may have been struck by a car that was no longer at the scene.

PHOENIX — A Phoenix man is in the hospital with serious injuries after a possible hit-and-run, police said.

Early Saturday morning, Phoenix police responded to the area of ​​19th Avenue and Bethany Home Road in search of an injured person. When officers arrived on scene, they learned the victim may have been hit by a vehicle, police said. The car is no longer at the scene.

The man was seriously injured and was taken to hospital, police said. The man’s identity has not been released.

19th Avenue was closed for a period of time while police investigated the incident.
