Man killed in shooting involving Mesa police

The shooting happened near Ninth Avenue and Stapley Avenue, according to the Mesa Police Department.

MESA, Ariz. — A man is dead following a shooting involving police in Mesa Friday afternoon.

According to the Mesa Police Department, the shooting happened in a neighborhood just north of South Avenue and Stapley Avenue.

Police said no officers were injured.

Calls to Silent Witness will be answered by on-site personnel 24/7, and tips will be accepted at any time. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective assigned to the specific case.

Rewards of up to $1,000 may be available to individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case.
