Lowrider bike club builds custom bicycle for DEA’s 50th anniversary

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Drug Enforcement Administration is celebrating this milestone with the help of the local Lowrider Bicycle Club. To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the institution unveiled a bicycle customized by students from the Duke City-led Lowrider Bicycle Club and a club in Kansas.

The after-school club launched earlier this year to give local youth a place to seek guidance from law enforcement, lowrider community members and other role models while building custom bikes. The club is sponsored in part by DEA’s Operation Engage.

Lowrider Cycling Club is a free program. Students get to keep the customized bikes they build.
