Browns TE David Njoku questionable due to burn injuries

BEREA, Ohio — Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku is currently unavailable for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.

The team said Njoku suffered burns to his face and arms during a domestic incident. He was injured while trying to start a fire on Friday night, a source told ESPN.

Cleveland tight end Zaire Mitchell-Paden was removed from the practice squad and will replace Njoku if he is unable to play.

The Browns also promoted quarterback P.J. Walker to the active roster, while starting quarterback Deshaun Watson is ruled out for Sunday’s game with a right arm injury. Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said he “hopes” Watson can still play.

Njoku has 10 catches for 92 yards this season. He finished his career last year with 58 catches for 628 yards and four touchdowns.

If Njoku is ruled out, tight ends Jordan Akins and Harrison Bryant will replace him.
