Albuquerque man who fatally stabbed homeless man in 2020 takes plea deal

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Jamari Wilson, a homeless man who killed a suspect in another murder, reached a plea deal Thursday. In 2020, a then-19-year-old stabbed a homeless man in Coronado Park, witnesses said. The man, 49-year-old Randy Hilliard, is suspected of setting fire to a man under the Interstate 40 bridge on 12th Street three years ago. The charges against Hilliard were dismissed.

Wilson pleaded no contest to charges of voluntary manslaughter and robbery. Although a sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled, Wilson agreed to face up to 12 years in prison.
