Multi-vehicle crash reported in north Phoenix, 3 people injured

One person had to be rescued from the wrecked vehicle, authorities said.

PHOENIX — One man is dead and two others are in the hospital with serious injuries after a crash in north Phoenix on Thursday.

According to the Phoenix Fire Department, the multi-vehicle crash happened near 23rd Avenue and Happy Valley Road around 2 p.m.

Once firefighters arrived on scene, they had to extricate people from the wrecked vehicle.

Two men and a woman were taken to hospital. Officials said two of the patients were in “extremely critical” condition and the third was in “critical” condition. One of the men, Cole Boaz, 28, has been pronounced dead.

Phoenix police are currently investigating how the accident occurred.
