Andres KOAT 7 Weather Forecast for August 8 2023

HEY, GOOD MORNING, TIMBER NOW 624 YEAH, WE HAVE AN IMPACT. WEATHER DAY BECAUSE OF THE HEAT. A LOT OF HEAT WARNINGS IN PLACE ACROSS MAJORITY OF NEW MEXICO, ESPECIALLY FOR US HERE IN THE RIO GRANDE VALLEY IN ALBUQUERQUE, DOWN TOWARDS THE SOUTH. WE HAVE HEAT ADVISORIES EXTENDING AT LEAST THROUGH TUESDAY. PRETTY MUCH THE HEAT IS HERE TO STAY FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. SO MAKE SURE YOU ARE STAYING HYDRATED OUT THERE AND TAKING BREAKS FROM THE HEAT. IF YOU DO HAVE TO BE OUTDOORS. IT IS THE WEEKEND. THIS IS ALL BECAUSE HIGH PRESSURE AS INCHES WAY CLOSER TOWARDS THE REGION. SO WE’RE SEEING THESE TEMPERATURES BEING ANYWHERE FROM 10 TO 20 DEGREES. WELL ABOVE THE SEASONAL AVERAGE. AND THIS DOME OF HIGH PRESSURE REALLY HEATING THINGS UP, BUT ALSO MAKING OUR DROUGHT CONDITIONS EVEN WORSE. NOW, WE HAVEN’T SEEN ANY MEASURABLE RAIN THIS ENTIRE MONSOON SEASON ACROSS THE SUNPORT AND OUR LATEST DROUGHT MONITOR HAS UPDATED TO SHOW AREAS ACROSS SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO. NOW IN A MODERATE TO SEVERE DROUGHT. OF COURSE, WE HAVE NOT SEEN ANY MEASURABLE RAIN FOR QUITE SOME TIME SINCE MAY 21ST, TO BE EXACT. 74 DAYS WITHOUT ANY MEASURABLE RAIN. AND TODAY WE’LL PROBABLY MAKE IT 75 DAYS WITHOUT SEEING ANY RAIN AT THE SUNPORT. HEY, WE STILL DO HAVE SOME STORMS CHANCES, BUT YOU HAVE TO GO FAR NORTHEAST FOR THAT TO HAPPEN FOR YOU AND EVEN THEN IT’S GOING TO BE SLIM TO NONE. AS FOR MONDAY, THOUGH, WE HAVE FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN PLACE FOR NORTHERN NEW MEXICO, ESPECIALLY ACROSS OUR NORTHERN MOUNTAINS. AVOID ANY OUTDOOR BURNING. WE ARE EXPECTING THESE DRY CONDITIONS TO LAST FOR QUITE SOME TIME, BUT THE WINDS WILL BE PICKING UP A LITTLE BIT MORE ON MONDAY. THEY WILL BE BREEZY TODAY, BUT NOT AS STRONG AS WHAT WE ARE FORECAST FOR MONDAY. AND IT’S THE REASON THAT FIRE WEATHER WATCH IS IN PLACE. SO EXPECT BREEZY CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON FOR AREAS OF CENTRAL AND NORTHERN NEW MEXICO DOWN TOWARDS THE SOUTH. THINGS WILL BE A LOT CALMER AND THE WIND DEPARTMENT HIGHS TODAY IN THE UPPER 90S ACROSS FARMINGTON. WE ARE EXPECTING A LOT OF SUNSHINE TODAY, HOT TOMORROW. AND THEN WE PRETTY MUCH HANG ON TO THE MID 90S FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS AS WE TRAVEL TO THE SOUTHWEST WESTERN NEW MEXICO. THERE COULD BE SOME POP UP SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE HIGHER TERRAIN NEAR KOMODO AND SILVER CITY, BUT REALLY RELATIVELY DRY CROSSOVER CITY TODAY AND TOMORROW AFTERNOON. THUNDERSTORM CHANCES WON’T COME BACK UNTIL MONDAY AND THEN WE’LL BE DRY ON TUESDAY BEFORE WE SEE ANOTHER ROUND OF MOISTURE ACROSS SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO. WE COULD SEE A STRAY SHOWER OR THUNDERSTORM ACROSS ROSWELL, BUT THE BIG STORY IS GOING TO BE THE DANGEROUS HEAT, 109 DEGREES TODAY. THERE IS A BACKDOOR COLD FRONT AFFECTING THE EASTERN SIDE OF THE STATE. SO WE’LL KNOCK OFF OUR TEMPERATURES JUST A TAD BIT TO 103 FOR YOUR SUNDAY NORTHEAST. NEW MEXICO LOOKS LIKE THIS, 94 DEGREES, MOSTLY SUNNY TODAY ACROSS EDGEWOOD AND MORIARTY. AND THEN WE SHOULD SEE OUR TEMPERATURES CLIMB DOWN JUST A TAD BIT FOR SUNDAY AGAIN. THEN THAT BACKDOOR COLD FRONT KNOCKING DOWN A FEW TEMPERATURES A FEW DEGREES TOMORROW ACROSS NORTH CENTRAL NEW MEXICO. IT’S GOING TO BE HOT TODAY ACROSS TAOS. 92 IS YOUR HIGH, 86 OUT THERE IN TRAUMA. SO RELATIVELY WARM. AND THEN MID-NINETIES REALLY FOR THE NEXT INTO THE WEEKEND AND THEN UPPER 80S AS WE APPROACH MONDAY, TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY, MOSTLY SUNNY TODAY, BUT WE’LL HAVE A COUPLE PASSING CLOUDS HERE AND THERE. BUT THE TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO BE IN. THE TRIPLE IS PRETTY MUCH ACROSS THE ENTIRE RIO GRANDE VALLEY. HERE’S THAT SEVEN-DAY FORECAST IMPACT WEATHER TODAY AND TOMORROW BECAUSE OF THE HEAT. AND MORE THAN LIKELY, WE COULD BE SHATTERING A RECORD. THIS AFTERNOON, WE’RE
