OpenAI ChatGPT app for Android now available

OpenAI, a hot AI startup backed by Microsoftlaunched its Android version Chat GPT application Tuesday.

The app’s launch follows the debut of an iOS app in May and marks the first time the app is available outside of the OpenAI website. The app syncs user history across devices and supports voice input, allowing users to ask chatbots for instant answers to questions, guidelines or advice, creative inspiration, summaries and drafts of emails or presentations, and more.

But take any chatbot answer with a grain of salt: an AI model can sometimes be wrong or misguided because it’s trained on internet data.

The Android app is available in the US, India, Bangladesh and Brazil. OpenAI plans to expand availability next week.

The news comes amid an AI arms race at OpenAI, Microsoft, Google And choose. To encourage consumers to adopt generative artificial intelligence in their daily lives, tech giants are racing to launch not only new chatbot apps, but also new features like visual search.

Earlier this year, Microsoft expanded its investment in OpenAI — adding an additional $10 billion — making it the largest AI investment of the year, and in April, the startup reportedly closed a $300 million in stock sale It is valued at between $2.7 billion and $29 billion, and investors include Sequoia Capital and Andreessen Horowitz, among others.
