The Last Chance Qualifier will be held at Noon on May 17 at the Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth. The event will include the Pro and Challenger Open Barrel Race, the Pro and Challenger Breakthrough Ropes, and the Pro and Challenger Team Ropes, culminating in a Pro and Challenger Barrel Buyback Round. Entry fees are $150 for the barrel race and $250 for the ropes race. The one-day tournament has an estimated prize pool of $40,000.

The Last Chance Qualifiers bring unprecedented opportunities to female rodeos. Linsay Rosser-Sumpter, Commissioner of the Women’s Rodeo World Championships, expressed her excitement for the event: “This opportunity offers top players from all walks of life the opportunity to showcase their talents on one of the biggest stages in women’s rodeo. As a competitor or rodeo fan, you don’t want to miss one of the richest weeks in women’s rodeo.”

Rosser-Sumpter explained, “We want to give cowgirls as many opportunities as possible to showcase their skills. The Last Chance Qualifiers allow high-level cowgirls to compete in major events and give them one last chance to qualify for the WRWC. This year, we look forward to hosting this event in conjunction with the Cowgirl Gathering to make the week of the stockyards all about women’s rodeo.”

The event will be held concurrently with the Cowgirl Gathering, the first WRWC qualifier in 2024. Featuring an Open 5D Barrel Race, Team Ropes Race and Break Ropes Race, the Cowgirl Meetup showcases inspiring women from all walks of life who embody the spirit of American Cowgirls. In addition to celebrating women’s rodeo, the Professional Bullriding Association Finals will also be held in Fort Worth.

The Women’s Rodeo World Championships week kicks off with heats on May 14 and concludes with the Rodeo Triple Crown Round on May 20. With guaranteed total prize money of $750,000 and $60,000 for each event winner, this is a competitive event that fans won’t want to miss.
“This week’s theme is honoring women in rodeo, celebrating their success, talent and dedication to the sport. Talent of this caliber deserves to be celebrated, and WRWC is proud to showcase these athletes during a historic women’s rodeo week,” Rosser-Sumpter explained.
