
Police are investigating two separate crashes that involved pedestrians overnight in southeast Albuquerque. According to an Albuquerque police spokesperson, one person died Saturday morning after a vehicle versus pedestrian crash near Central Avenue southeast and Pennsylvania Street southeast. Police say a driver attempted to avoid what appeared to be clothes in the road while traveling south on Pennsylvania Street past Central Avenue. The driver felt an impact, stopped, then called 911. The male victim was transported to a local hospital, but did not survive.The second crash took place Friday night near Gibson Boulevard southeast and Washington Street southeast. According to police, a vehicle was traveling west on Gibson and struck the pedestrian near the intersection. Police say the vehicle left the scene but was located later by officers. The male victim was taken to a local hospital after suffering serious injuries. There is no update on his condition.
