FAIRFIELD, Calif. —
One person was killed and six others were injured after a shooting at the Spirit Halloween store at a California shopping mall.
Officials with the Fairfield Police Department said they responded to the Solano Town Center in Fairfield at 8:30 p.m. local time on Friday night.
At least three of the victims were in critical condition. The victims’ ages were not released.
No one has been detained, police said, and a massive manhunt is underway. They did not have information about a possible shooter or shooters and were trying to determine how many shots were fired.
Suisun City police said they assisted police by providing mutual aid for multiple victims and officers were searching for a suspect.
California Highway Patrol said it was assisting police with traffic control and clearing buildings.
A witness told Hearst sister station KCRA that his wife, who was inside the Spirit Halloween store, heard gunshots and people were running.
“I think she told that there was like five, six, seven shots when people were running,” the witness said.
This is a developing story.
